Week Three- Film and stage make-up
Check out the youtube clip of Annie Thomas a famous face painter. You might recognise some of the cartoon characters.
Weta Workshop is a New Zealand company that is world famous for creating films. This clip talks about all the things they create. Keep you eyes out for prosthetic make-up.
Prosthetic make-up is an awesome art form. Again it is very hard to do at home without lots of materials. Watch the clip about the main actor in the movie WONDER being transformed.
Face painting is a fantastic way to use fading and mixing techniques. I completely understand we don't all have face paints at home. While you watch the clip listen to the tips the face painting artist is using. These tips can be use when you are painting on paper. If you have face paint try painting yourself as an animal. Painting over the eyelids is very effective technique.

Week Two- Hairstyling is an art form...
Hairstyling can easily be compared to other visual art forms. Sculpting and painting come to mind because of the hands-on similarities in these art forms. This week we will be discovering the history of hairstyles and getting involved in creating hair art. If you feel comfortable it would be awesome to share some of your creative hairstyles during the Zoom sessions.
When I was your age, I would often set up a hairdressing salon at home- a chair, mirror, combs, brushes, scissors ( I wish) and hair products. I would make my family book appointments and then I would role-play being a hairdresser. Dad sure did love his cornrows and Mum certainly could rock a mohawk.
If you are love creating art using hair, take a look at this link. It has information about hairdressing and being a barber. Hairdressing as a career
